Willous Franklin Joines

Willous Franklin Joines, age 80, of Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, September 29th, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.

Willous was born March 17th, 1943 in Alleghany County to the late Elmer and Leola Brown Joines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Darlene Love Joines; two sisters: Greta Joines and Mona Faye Joines.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Daughenbaugh and husband Duke of Mt. Airy; three sons: Robbie Dowell and Amy Hodge of Independence, VA, Allen Lawhead and wife Cynthia of Harrisonburg, VA, Wesley Travis Joines of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren: Brittany Wagoner, Ryan Dowell, Kyle Dowell and Jamie Whitehead; two great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Irene Walls and husband Randy of Sparta, Nancy Miller of Abingdon, VA, Ann Hudson and husband Ben of Topeka, KS; Eliza Grace Love of Gainesville, TX; two brothers-in-law: Benny Love and wife Patsy of Sparta, Dwayne Love and wife Stella of Sparta; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Graveside Services to honor the life of Willous will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at Landmark Cemetery in the Whitehead Community of Sparta with Reverend Jerry Roten officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
