William Dewey Hoppers, age 88, of Laurel Springs, NC; passed away Sunday, September 18th, 2022.
Dewey was born September 12th, 1934 in Alleghany County to the late William Eddie and Carrie Rector Hoppers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joan Maines Hoppers; a brother, Thomas Hassell Hoppers; a sister, Imojean Weaver. He was a US Air Force Veteran, a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Sparta Masonic Lodge #423 AF&AM.
Survivors include his son, William Steven Hoppers and wife Pam of Sparta; two granddaughters: Christina Hoppers of Sparta and Alexis Hoppers of Williamsburg, VA; a sister-in-law, Mary Maines of Summerfield, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Dewey will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
