Wayne Cleary Obituary

Clifton Wayne Cleary, age 86 of Sparta; passed away Thursday, January 29th, 2026 at NC State Veterans Home in Kernersville, NC.

Wayne was born February 25th, 1939 in Alleghany County to the late Robert and Mattie Lyons Cleary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Combs Cleary; three brothers: Robert Dean Cleary, Ernest Cleary and Eugene Cleary.

Survivors include two children: Micheal Wayne Cleary and wife Emilia Mangaccat Cleary of Lake City, FL, Waynna Cleary McMillan and husband Patrick of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren: Isabella Wyatt of Sparta, NC and Mattie Wyatt of Raleigh, NC.

Private services to honor the life of Wayne will be held at Thomas Family Funeral Service with Interment to follow at Sparta Cemetery.
