Wanda Caudill Brown Turner, age 85, of Elkin, NC; passed away Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at Pruitt Health Nursing in Elkin.
Wanda was born April 16th, 1939 in Alleghany County to the late Clint and Bessie Pruitt Caudill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Keith Brown and Harold Turner; a former husband and special friend, Larry Gordon; three brothers: Larry, Leo and Hal Caudill; five sisters: Mildred Brooks, Mabel Brooks, Cleo Brooks, Faye Crouse and Ruby Dancy; brothers-in-law, Roy Brooks, Claude Dancy, Clarence Crouse and Lacy Brooks; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Caudill.
Wanda went to Beauty School in Elkin and became a beautician, and then, after owning a beauty salon for many years, Wanda attended Surry Community College majoring in accounting and then later owned Nautilus Gym in Jonesville for several years. She co-owned several video and pet stores before retiring. She was an excellent gardener and loved flowers.
Survivors include her two children: Darla Hoffman (Rodney) of Clover, SC and Dana Shaw (Dennis) of Jonesville, NC; five grandchildren: Ryan Helms (Jaclyn) of Jonesville, NC, Justin Helms (Maggie) of Gastonia, NC, Jeremy Helms (Jenny) of Hampstead, NC, Jessica Barker of Charlotte, NC and Dennell Ellis (Daniel) of Lewisville, NC; eleven great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Dorene Caudill of Sparta, NC; brother-in-law, Zane Brooks of Jonesville, NC; special nephew, Roger Dancy (Chris) of Clemmons, NC; two step-daughters: Lisa Keck (Brian) of Little River, SC and Amy Moore (Mike) of Pleasant Garden, NC; five step-grandchildren also survive. Wanda had several nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Wanda will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 23rd, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend John Attaway officiating. There will be a time of reflection for family and friends to speak. Interment will follow at Landmark Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
