Wade Houston Murphy

Wade Houston Murphy, age 75, of Roaring Gap, NC; passed away Monday, February 8th, 2021 at his residence.

Wade was born February 6th, 1946 in Alleghany County to the late Click Murphy and Lorene Bedsaul Jennings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dwayne Murphy.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy B. Murphy of the home; three children: Alan Murphy of Wilmington, NC., Ramona Cox and husband Stan of Apex, NC., Reba Cox and husband Jeff of Wilkesboro, NC; five grandchildren: Kara Cox, Kristen Cox, Dylan Cox, Evan Cox, Zack Cox; a sister, Shelby Brice of Winston-Salem; a half-brother, Chris Murphy and wife Kathy of Sparta; his step-mother, Ola Mae Murphy of Sparta; several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Wade will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service, 115 Hawthorne Street, Sparta with Elder Dan Edwards, Pastor Dale Baugus and Dr. Jeff Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Little Pine Covenant Brethren Cemetery. A walk-through visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home but the family will not be present.
