Virginia Caroline (McMillan) Holloway

Virginia McMillan Holloway, age 81, of Sparta; passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at Alleghany Health in Sparta, NC.

Virginia was a member of Bakers Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Piney Creek; she loved her family and especially her "Babies" as she would call the grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Virginia was strong in her faith and loved the Lord more than anything.

Virginia was born June 15th, 1942 in Lancaster, PA to the late Arthur Fields McMillan and Ruth Burchette McMillan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Holloway; a daughter, Diane Joines; a great-granddaughter, Liddy Hampton; a great-grandson, Danny Joe; ten brothers and sisters also predeceased her.

Survivors include two daughters: Joann Blevins and husband Junior of Laurel Springs, Amy Collyer and husband Steve of Woodruff, SC; five grandchildren: Heather Resendiz and husband Jose, Penny Sizemore and husband Tim, Jennifer Ruiz and husband Jacinto, Carla Arias, Cheyenne Hampton and husband Demarcus all of Sparta; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a special nephew, David McMillan of Jacksonville, FL; special friends: Cliff and Shirley Rector of Piney Creek; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Graveside services to honor the life of Virginia will he held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 at Piney Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Brother Ed Hall and Pastor Tim Sizemore officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
