Vickie Sturgill Brinegar, age 66 of Sparta; passed away Thursday, November 6th, 2025 at High Point Medical Center in High Point, NC.
Vickie was born December 8th, 1958 in Alleghany County to Frances Atwood Sturgill and the late Billy J. Sturgill. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Sturgill.
Vickie was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church. She loved the Christmas season, sitting on her front porch, getting out and about from the house, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, David S. Brinegar of the home; a step son, Shawn Brinegar of Sparta; two grandchildren: Lilliana and Lukas Brinegar of Sparta; her mother, Frances Sturgill of Sparta; two sisters, Rene' Saltz and husband Alan of Sparta; Janna Johnson and husband Brad of Lee High Acres, FL; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services to honor the life of Vickie will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 9th, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Eric Miller and Pastor Dale Baugus officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehead Joines Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
