Venaree (Edwards) Sparks

Venaree Edwards Sparks, age 84, of Sparta; passed away Friday, October 20th, 2023 at Alleghany Health in Sparta, NC.

Venaree was born October 31st, 1938 in Sparta, NC to the late Bert and Ella Bedsaul Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Sparks; four brothers: Joe, Eugene, Carl Dean and Roger Edwards; six sisters: Shirley Wooten, Irene Wooten, Emmalee Rector, Virginia Sexton, Barbara Givens and Kathleen Shaw.

Survivors include a son, Allen Sparks and wife Deana of Sparta and Yadkinville; two grandsons: Andrew Winters and wife Elizabeth of Boonville, Adam Stevens of Yadkinville; two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Charlie Winters of Boonville; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Venaree will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 4th at Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Kamoda officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
