Treva Bedsaul (Higgins) Johnson

Treva Higgins Bedsaul Johnson, age 86 of Cana, VA, and formerly of Ennice, NC; passed away at her home on Sunday, March 15th, 2026.

Treva was born March 10th, 1940 in Galax, VA to the late Bert Higgins and Elizabeth Roberts Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Ralph Bedsaul and Mack Johnson; a daughter, Becky Bedsaul; a grandson, Joseph.

Treva, along with her husband Ralph, owned the Home & Farm Supply in Ennice for many years. Several years after Ralph's passing, she married Mack Johnson. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and quilter. Treva was known for her sense of humor and her love of family, community and her church.

Survivors include her two children: Sandra Bowers of Galax, Rickey Bedsaul and wife Vickie of Ennice; two step-children: Robbie Johnson and wife Janet of Mt. Airy, Renee Bedsaul and husband Sam of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and step grandchildren: Brandon Bedsaul and wife Julie, Jill Hanson and husband Brandon, Megean Brady and husband Eli, Kayla Sikes and husband Gordon, Roulette Evans and husband Dan, Rowdy Bedsaul and wife Allie, Reed Bedsaul; 5 great grandchildren: Payton Proffitt, Sidney Proffitt, Bishop Brady, Bannon Brady, Indy Sikes; five step great grandchildren: Ally Hanson, Delia Hanson, D'Mitri Sikes, Ryland Sikes, Gaetano Bedsaul; two half brothers: Tommy Chappell and wife Karen, David Chappell; extended family and many friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Treva will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 19th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Larry Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Saddle Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
