Tommy Robert Autry

Tommy Robert Autry, age 62, of 3802 NC Hwy 18 S., Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, January 14th, 2022 at Alleghany Health in Sparta.

Tommy was born September 28th, 1959 in Monroe, NC to the late Tom Jackson and Mary Thompson Autry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila James; a grandson, Byron Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Liddy Hampton. He loved football, baseball, golf and deer hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Debra Autry of the home; bonus children: Dillon Pearl and fiance Montanna Williams of Sparta, Samantha Biggins and husband Donny of Sparta, Beth Angel and companion Nathaniel Byrd of Pinnacle, NC; Eight grandchildren: Scot Hampton, Reggie Hampton, Nik Angel, Demarcus Hampton, Joey Hampton, Nolan Biggins, Madelyn Ray, and Christina Brady ; seventeen great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Tracy Strawn; heart brother, Cliff Smith; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Tommy will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, weather permitting, in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
