Talmadge Elmer Crouse

Talmadge "Sonny" Elmer Crouse, age 74, of 78 Stardust Lane, Glade Valley, NC; passed away Monday, June 26th, 2023 at his residence.

Sonny enjoyed golf, hunting, and playing fish tables in skilled games. He was a friend to all who knew him and loved helping people.

Sonny was born March 15th, 1949 in Alleghany County to the late Herbert and Ruby Rash Crouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Heckner Crouse; a brother, Roy Crouse; a grandson, Allen Jones.

Survivors include his three children: Mark Crouse and wife Kathy of Nortonville, KY, Sonny Crouse and wife Melissa of Glade Valley, Michael Crouse and wife Tina of Ennice; eight grandchildren: Chris Crouse (Mae), Brandon Crouse (Stephanie), Mike Waggy, Aaron Jones (Mary), Shane Crouse, Brianna Crouse, Erika Skaggs, Racheal Means; eleven great-grandchildren: Cameron, Hayden, Riley, Triston, Selena, Shawn, Isiah, Declan, Kayden, April, Eleana; two sisters: Rose Gentry and husband Kyle, Audry Mullen and husband Harry; three brothers: Dale Crouse, Mike Crouse and wife Patricia, Boyd Crouse and wife Jean; an extended son, Eddie Ottey; best friend, Denise Gwynn; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Sonny will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 29th, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Billy Chatham officiating. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne Post 7034 of Sparta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
