Steve Allen Joines

Steve Allen Joines, age 75 of Sparta; passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 in Sparta.

Steve was the Owner/Operator of the former Steve Joines Dairy in Sparta and was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Cherry Lane. He was a native of Alleghany County, born October 5th, 1946 to the late John Everett and Madelene Sanders Joines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Cothren; father-in-law, Odell Billings; brothers-in-law: Dale Billings and Paul Billings.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Billings Joines of the home; a son, Allen Wayne Joines of the home; a grandson, Avin Everette Joines and wife Lenzi of Hillsville, VA; a great-grandson, August Joines of Sparta; a brother, Jack Joines and wife Linda of Sparta; a sister, Beverly Smith of Traphill; mother-in-law, Ruby B. Billings of Sparta; brothers-in-law: Ray Billings and wife Teresa of Wytheville, VA, Wade Billings and wife Peggy of Independence, VA, Kenneth Billings of Sparta; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Steve will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 11th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Elder Kyle Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in the Stratford Community of Sparta. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
