Steve Edwards

George Stephen "Steve" Edwards, age 62, of Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, February 14th, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Steve was born October 30th, 1962 in Greensboro, NC to George Floyd Edwards and the late Carol Brown Edwards. He was retired and worked part-time at Twin Oaks General Store. He was a member of Pine Fork Baptist Church, Elkin Masonic Lodge #454, Olde Beau Golf Club and New River Country Club. Steve loved to play golf, fish and kayak the New River.

Survivors include his wife of 3 years, Andrea Martin of the home; son, Kohl Edwards of Thurmond; step-daughter, Sheree Collins of Sparta; father and step-mother, George and Lavonne Edwards of State Road; sister, Stephanie Allen and husband Greg of State Road, nephew, Connor Allen of State Road; many friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Steve will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 16th, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Wagg officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 17th, 2025 at Mining Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in State Road.
