Stephen Brooks Obituary
Stephen Eugene Brooks, age 70, of Sparta; passed away Sunday, February 28th, 2021 at his residence.
Steve was born January 4th, 1951 in Wilkes County to the late Clive Eugene and Zelda Caudill Brooks. He was retired from the NC Department of Transportation with over 37 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paula S. Brooks of the home; two children: Jeannie Roupe and husband Freddy of Taylorsville, Sammy Brooks and wife Lois of Morehead City; three grandchildren: Gavin Roupe, Tess Roupe, and Rylee Brooks; a sister, Rita Hall and husband Ed of Mt. Airy; special friends: John Brooks and Gray Stoker; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Steve will held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at Landmark Cemetery with Pastor Dale Baugus and Reverend John Attaway officiating. No formal visitation will be held but you are welcome to visit at the home during reasonable calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scout Pack 299 c/o First Baptist Church of Sparta, PO Box 668, Sparta, NC 28675.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask everyone attending the graveside service to please bring and wear a mask.
