Shirley (Mitchell) McCraw

Shirley Mitchell McCraw, age 65, of 1778 Walnut Branch Church Road, Sparta; passed away Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at her residence.

Shirley was born February 27th, 1957 in Galax, VA to the late Robert Louis Mitchell and Mariana Rose Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McCraw.

Shirley was a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a hard worker, volunteered in the community, loved doing crafts, and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brother, Steve Mitchell of Sparta; a sister, Margaret Williams and husband Randy of Sparta; a special nephew, Craig Williams and wife Kim of Sparta; a special niece, Meagan Kennedy and husband Robert of Sparta; a special great-niece, Reagan Kennedy and a special great- nephew, Eli Kennedy; several cousins and special friends; a very special Guardian Angel, Betty Brown.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Shirley will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Serven officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Margaret and Randy Williams, 153 Green Needles Lane, Sparta, NC 28675.
