It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sherry Anne Horne Lee, age 57, on January 28, 2026, at her home in Lambsburg Virginia, of natural causes. While our hearts are broken, we are thankful for her life and the love and joy she brought to so many and the hearts she touched.
Born in Gaffney, South Carolina she lived and attended schools in Blacksburg and was a member of the Mt. Paran Community and Mt. Paran Baptist Church.
Sherry developed a love for cooking and enjoyed cooking delicious meals whenever she visited her family. After high school she took a course in Fashion Merchandising at Cleveland Community College in Shelby NC, which sparked and fueled her passion for shopping to ensure her outfits were always well matched and complete with the appropriate accessories. She loved to shop for herself and others. And, wherever Sherry went you would see her constant companion, her King Charles Cavalier, Lela. They went everywhere together. She had a wonderful personality and never met a stranger. She had a huge heart and eagerly shared anything she could with anyone in need. She also attended Anderson College and College of Charleston.
After marrying Michael Lee, they moved to Nashville TN, where they lived together until 2011.
She is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Martha Elizabeth Alexander Horne and her grandfather and grandmother James Woodrow and Ena Martin. She is survived by her children, Caroline Elizabeth Lee and Clayton Michael Lee of Nashville, TN, her mother, Barbara M Smith, and step-father Henry F Smith of Salisbury, NC. Her father Robert Allen Horne, Sr of Blacksburg, SC, her brother Robert Allen Horne, Jr and wife Amy of Mooresville, NC, her step-brothers Jason L Smith and wife Marcia of Locust, NC and Jonathan H Smith and wife Amber of China Grove, NC. Additionally, she loved her nieces and nephews. Especially important to recognize and appreciate, she is survived by her best and closest friend for the past 15 years, Greg Walker of Glade Valley, NC, who has been there for her support, care and comfort.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later time.
