Sandra "Mimi" Kaye (Miller) Benge

Sandra Kaye Miller Benge, better known by her family as "Mimi", age 74 of Sparta; passed away Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

Sandy was born July 28th, 1950 in Ashe County to the late Webb and Kathleen Atwood Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Judy Boone and an infant sister, Lorie Alice.

Sandy worked as a bank teller, owned and operated a local florist, and later worked as a Radiology Technician at Alleghany Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Sandy lived for her kids and grandkids and loved serving the Lord at her church, Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Sparta, where she was a member for over 20 years. She especially adored her dog, Zoey.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James Benge of the home; two daughters: Ronda Blevins and husband Daryl of Sparta, Sheri Maxwell and Fiance' Eric Bennett of Thurmond; four grandchildren: Summer Hall and husband Zack of Sparta, Autumn Billings and husband Jerimiah of Sparta, Sydnee Denton and husband Nick of Kingsport, TN, Logan Maxwell of Davidson County, NC; two great-grandchildren: Oakley Hall and Remington Denton; a brother, Jeff Miller and wife Becky of Sparta; two sisters: Mary Howell and husband Donald of Sparta, Wendy McCall and husband Donny of Sparta; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends also survive.

A memorial service to honor the life of Sandy will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship with Pastor Dr. Brian Galyean officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times before and after the memorial service at the home of Ronda and Daryl Blevins, 872 Golf Course Road, Sparta, NC 28675.
