Russell Lee Burchett

Russell Lee "Bucky" Burchett, age 72, of Ennice, NC; passed away Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.

Russell was born July 15th, 1951 in Alleghany County to the late Talmadge Ray and Cleo Roten Burchette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruby Burchett; a brother, Jimmy Burchette; a sister, Nancy McGraw. Russell was a member of New Covenant Church where he served as caretaker for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Wanda Davis Burchett of the home; six children: Michelle Noriega of Galax, VA, Brandie Pinter and husband Randall of Nebraska, Brittany Caudill of Charleston, SC, Manny Noriega of Ennice, German Ramos of Galax, VA, Jamie Burchette and wife Kim of Sparta; four brothers: Tommy Burchett and wife Linda of Mooresville, Robert Burchette and wife Cathy of Murrells Inlet, SC, James Burchette and special friend Kim Russ of Statesville, Joe Burchette and wife Robin of Troutman; a sister, Ruth Sellito and husband Mike of Salisbury; a brother-in-law, Jimmie McGraw of Statesville; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Russell will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 18th, 2024 at New Covenant Church with Pastors Phil Edwards and Jody Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of life dinner will follow at the church for all friends and family.
