Ross Emmett Richardson ll went to his heavenly rest October 18, 2021. Born on January 19, 1962 to the late Ross Dean and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Richardson, Ross was a 1980 graduate of Alleghany High. He attained an Associate Degree from WCC.
Ross, a life-long resident of his beloved Whitehead, was a very talented welder, mechanic, and farmer. There was nothing he could not fix, fabricate, or create for his customers at Maxwell Equipment Co. There, he learned much from Junior Maxwell, a man he respected and cared for in Junior’s latter years. Ross took great pride in his work.
He loved sharing his wit, wisdom, and resources with all he encountered along life's journey. He always had time to lift someone up or simply make them laugh. Sharing his knowledge of welding, farm equipment, or motorcycles with young upstarts brought him much joy. He was brilliant, but humble, kind, generous, and a friend to all. His was a life well lived in the pattern set forth by the Master.
He will be greatly missed by those whom survive; his mom Betty Richardson, sister Milly B. Richardson, brother John B. Richardson and wife Linda, and son B.J. Richardson, all of Sparta. He is also survived by his nephew, Joe B. McMeans and Ashley of Deltaville, VA., Brien Kinsey, Sandy and Finn of Sparta, Jody Mabe, Lauren and Hunter of Glade Creek. He will be equally missed by several first cousins and many friends.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ross Richardson will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service.
