Ronald Edward Brown

Ronald Edward Brown, age 69, of Sparta, NC; passed away Sunday, April 27th, 2025 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

Ronald was born June 19th, 1955 to the late John Edward Brown and Anna Sue Combs Melton. He was raised in Alleghany County by his late grandparents, Bertie and Elsie Combs. Ronald graduated from Alleghany High School in 1973 and went on to attend Anderson College in Anderson, SC. During his time at college, he worked as a DJ for WANS radio station in Anderson. He developed his love for electronics, became a huge Clemson football and Dale Earnhardt fan. After college, he chose a career with the Alleghany News as an Editor and also worked in Advertising/Sales for over 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Linda Stanbro Brown of the home; a step daughter, Amy Wieczorek of Erie, PA; a sister Mary Brown Mason of SC; three brothers: Bill Brown of SC, Allen Brown of SC, and Donald Melton of Sparta, NC; special friends: Joan Kennedy, David Nichols, and Cora Joines; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

A graveside service to honor the life of Ronald will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at Crouse Family Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home at 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017.
