Roger Lee Simons

Roger Lee Simons, age 73, of Sparta; passed away Monday, December 27th, 2021 at Genesis Alleghany Center in Sparta.

Roger was born October 13th, 1948 in Alleghany County to the late James and Catherine Lambert Simons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-mother, Hazel Jean Simons; a brother, Frankie Simons; two sisters: Janet Caudill and Louise Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Simons of Sparta; a daughter, Susie Watkins and husband Howard of Wilkesboro; two God sons; Alvin Sales and Andrew Sales of North Wilkesboro; six brothers: James "Junior" Simons and wife Susan of Piney Creek, Johnny R. Simons of Glade Valley, Billy Simons of Piney Creek, Rockey Simons of Sparta, Michael Simons and Rita Bobbitt of Sparta, David Simons and wife Cathy of Mt. Airy; six sisters: Patsy Love and husband Benny of Sparta, Maxine Alley of Sparta, Debbie Stone and husband Willie of Sparta, Brenda Kimber of Glade Valley, Bobbie Dowell and husband Billy of Sparta, and Cathy Mabe and husband Kenny of Glade Creek; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

No formal services are to be held.
