Robert Eanes Obituary
Robert Harold Eanes, age 85, of Glade Valley, NC; passed away Friday, November 12th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, VA.
Robert was born September 16th, 1936 in Martinsville, VA to the late Robert Aubrey Eanes and Christine Foley Eanes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Velma Eanes. He was a 27 year Veteran of the armed forces serving for 7 years in the Air Force and then retiring after 20 years of service in the Army. After retiring, he loved to garden, play golf and especially loved mowing his lawn. He was a member of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Sparta and a member of the VFW Post# 7726 of Independence, VA.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Donna D. Eanes of the home; four children: Debbie Stone of Rhode Island, Sheila Donathan and husband Dennis of TX, Cindy Eanes of TX, Rob Eanes and wife Ruby of NC; two step-sons: Steve McMichael and wife Tammie of NC, David McMichael and wife Sherry of NC; a brother, Jack Eanes and wife Marilyn of VA; two sisters: Ressie Brewer and husband Wayne of VA, Martha Compton and husband Will of VA; thirteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Memorial Services to honor the life of Robert will be held at a later date.
