Robert Greely Choate

Robert "Bob" Greely Choate, age 76, of 4819 US Highway 221, Sparta, NC; passed away Tuesday, June 27th, 2023 at his residence.

Bob was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. He was very proud of his yard and taking care of his home. He worked very hard over the years for all of his employers.

Bob was born June 29th, 1946 in Alleghany County to the late Roy and Ada Reeves Choate. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jones Choate of the home; a daughter, Becky Sanders and husband Tray of Sparta; two grandchildren: Mastin and Leah Sanders of Sparta; a great-grandchild, Skylar "Sky Bug" Sanders; two sisters: Betty Jo Smitherman of Pfafftown, Esther Kenney (Chris) of Advance; a brother, Bill Choate (Keathe) of Sterling, VA; two step-sisters: Gayle Brown (Don), Ann Parsons, both of North Wilkesboro; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Bob will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 1st, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverends Ricky Miller and Kevin Hopson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
