Robena Sue (Halsey) Richardson

Mrs. Robena Sue Halsey Richardson, age 90, of Independence, VA; passed away Friday, August 14th, 2020 at her residence.  She was born June 10, 1930 in Mouth of Wilson, VA to the late Vilas Manning and Clyde Cecilia Halsey Halsey.  She was the widow of J.L. Richardson.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Halsey and a sister, Thelma Halsey Vaught.  She was a member of the VFW Post# 7726 Ladies Auxillary of Independence, VA., a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church and Young's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Thomas Gwyn Halsey of Independence; nieces and nephews: Jackie H. Perry and husband Jerry of Mouth of Wilson, VA., Dwight Halsey of Winston-Salem, NC, H.T. Vaught of CA., Shirley Young and husband Robert of Roanoke, VA., Erdice Haanio of GA.; Great Nieces and Nephews: Cassadi, Christian, Colton and Harper Perry, Jackson Halsey, Lee Coomes and wife Jennifer, Suzanne Melton and husband Gary; several great great nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services to honor the life of Robena will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at Sparta Cemetery in Sparta, NC with Reverend Doug Turnmire officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.
