Richard Cox Obituary
Richard Reeves Cox, age 74 of Laurel Springs, NC; passed away Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 at his residence.
Richard was born July 26th, 1951 in Ashe County to the late Walter Reeves and Lena Poe Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a little brother, Robert Cox; two sisters: Lorretta Cox, Carolyn Wood. Richard was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. He loved his family, church, and church family and enjoyed fishing and farming.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy Huffman Cox of the home; two children: Chris Cox and wife Sherry, Missy Taylor and husband Tracy, all of Laurel Springs; three grandchildren: Christopher Cox, Summer Taylor, Danielle Taylor; a great grandchild, Beau Paulson; three sisters: Marlene Weaver and husband Phil of Laurel Springs, Darlene James and husband Jimel of Reidsville, Barbara Leonard of Statesville; special family: Dustin, Wesley, Paige, Bethany, Waylon, Miles, Collin, Tate, Taryn; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Richard will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at Bellview Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Pruitt, Chris Cox, and Christopher Cox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the church.
