Regina Kane Shepherd, age 77, of Sparta, NC; passed away Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
She was born October 8th, 1942 in Brighton, Massachusetts to the late Walter and Mary Gjweska Kane. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnie Shepherd; a brother, Zenon Kane.
Regina was a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very active in her community, volunteering with many organizations but especially loved Meals on Wheels, and the Animal Rescue, where she would take just about any type of animal in to take care of or nurse back to health.
Survivors include two daughters: Terri Huber and husband Arnie of Sparta, Kristi Marchetti and companion Darrell Richardson of Sparta; four grandchildren: Cyndee Marchetti Bobrow and husband Jamie, Randee Marchetti, Raymond Marchetti, Jr. and wife Elysia, Mathew Huber; three great-grandchildren: Landen and Masen Bobrow, Olivia Grace Marin; one great-granddaughter not quite with us yet, Ella Marchetti; a sister, Helen Kane of Sparta. Special former son-in-law, Raymond Marchetti, Sr.
A graveside service to honor the life of Regina will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 11th, 2020 at Little Pine Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Father James Stuhrenberg officiating.
Family and Friends are welcome to join us for a Celebration of Life of Regina at her home at 165 Acorn Hill Road in Sparta for lunch and refreshments immediately following the graveside services.
