Reba (Billings) Murray

Reba Billings Murray, age 77, of 582 Shawtown Road, Glade Valley, NC; passed away Friday, November 26th, 2021 at her residence.

Reba was born April 10th, 1944 in Alleghany County to the late Eli James Billings and Ruby Mae Crouse Billings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Murray; brothers and sisters: Alma, Mattie, Dock, DC, Bert, James, PK, Cecil, Rufus, and Eli Jr.

Survivors include three daughters: Chris Murray, Angela Lira and husband Francisco, Delores Murray; five grandchildren: Erika Sowards (Jason), Patty McCormick (John), Oscar Puckett (Lory), James Shaw, Raymond Shaw; a sister: Doris Dotson; a brother, Elder Kyle Jordan and wife Judy; three sisters-in-law: Mildred Billings, Ethel Clayville, Betty Ruth Murray; sixteen great-grandchildren: Makaylah (William), Chase, Corbin, Caitlin, Emily, Cloey, Maggie, Jesse P, Linzi, Haley, Levi, Luke, Lily, Donald, Jesse S, and Brinane; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Reba will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 29th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Ed Hall, Elder Gwyn Hamm, and Chaplain Dave Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medi-Home Hospice of Alleghany, PO Box 1287, Sparta, NC 28675.
