Ray Andrews Parsons

Ray Andrews Parsons, age 76 of Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, February 27th, 2025 at his residence.

Ray was born June 13th, 1948 in Alleghany County to the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Luther Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Daniel Parsons; a son, James Ray Parsons; four brothers: Fred Parsons, R. L. Parsons, James Parsons, Claude Parsons. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, and loved his dog, Duke.

Survivors include two sons: Johnny Parsons and wife Toni of Sparta, Ray Andrews Parsons, Jr. and wife Ana of RI; a daughter, Linda Parsons Glenn of SC; three grandchildren: Lindsey Parsons, Marc Parsons, Meredith Parsons; a great-grandchild, Elliott Sullivan; a sister, Hazel Higgins and husband Jimmy of Ennice; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Ray will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Charlie Bennett officiating. A private graveside will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
