Ralph Eugene Dowell

Ralph Eugene Dowell, age 76, of Sparta, NC; passed away Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Ralph was born March 11th, 1947 in Alleghany County to the late Carl and Fannie Halsey Dowell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ernest and Buck Dowell; a sister, Nancy Lovelace.

Survivors include two children: Tammy Daughenbaugh and husband Duke of Mount Airy, Robbie Dowell of Independence, VA; a step-son, Allen Lawhead and wife Cynthia of Harrisburg, VA; three grandchildren: Brittany Wagner of Dobson, Ryan Dowell of Piney Creek, Kyle Dowell of Sparta; one great-granddaughter, Kassandra Wagner of Dobson; a girlfriend, Dollie Nelson of Sparta; two brothers: Densel Dowell of Sparta, Tom Dowell of Asheboro; nieces and a nephew also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Ralph will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 15th, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Brother Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehead-Joines Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
