Patsy Sue (Elliott) Joines

Patsy "Pat" Sue Joines, age 69, of 4159 US Hwy 221, Sparta, NC; passed away Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Pat was born September 13th, 1951 in Ashe County to the late Ernest and Carrie Lea Brooks Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law: Jerry Sheets, David Lambert, and Bobby Joe Gambill. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of forty-three years Edwin Joines of the home; a son, Chuck Wagoner and wife Tracy of Laurel Springs; a daughter, Karen Evans and husband Sammy of Glade Valley; four grandchildren: Taylor Wagoner of Kingsport, TN, Sydney Wagoner of Laurel Springs, Jonathan Evans and wife Jennifer of Glade Valley, Matthew Evans and wife Alana of Hickory; three great- grandchildren: James, Corina, and Samantha Evans all of Glade Valley; a brother, Jim Elliott and wife Dorothy of North Wilkesboro; four sisters: Betty Miller of Millers Creek, Melba Stanley and husband Neil of SC, Judy Lambert of SC, Peggy Sheets of McGrady; a mother-in-law, Kathryn Joines of Sparta; brother-in-law, Jimmy Joines of Sparta; sister-in-law, Susie Gambill of Sparta; a special friend, Linda Wyatt of Sparta; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Pat will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 5th, 2021 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Greer and son, Chuck Wagoner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
