Nellie Rachel Brinegar Houck, age 90, of Grassy Creek, NC; passed away Wednesday, April 7th, 2021at Margate Health and Rehab in Jefferson, NC.
Nellie was born September 3rd, 1930 in Ashe County to the late John and Ennice Blevins Brinegar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Worth Houck; two daughters: Linda Jean Houck Caudill and Cathy Lee Houck. Nellie was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and attended until the time she went to Margate.
Survivors include five children: Gary Houck of Sparta, Shirley Bourne of Ennice, Sandy Campbell and husband Steve of Lenoir, Mike Houck of Grassy Creek, Bobby Houck of Grassy Creek; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Johnson of W. Jefferson; a special friend, Dorothy Griffith; nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Nellie will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at Brinegar Cemetery in Grassy Creek with Pastor Mark Wagg officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
