Minnie Lou (Edwards) Johnson

Minnie Lou Edwards Johnson, age 71, of Sparta, NC; passed away Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at her residence.

Minnie Lou was born June 2nd, 1953 in Alleghany County to the late Wayne and Oddie Bedsaul Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Allen Johnson; a son, Mark Caudill; a sister, Eva Parsons; a brother, Dewey Edwards.

Minnie was a wonderful hairdresser, a great singer, and had a passion for blue grass music. She loved sweet tea, watching crime shows, Dr. Phil, and Andy Griffith.

Survivors include her two children: Matthew Johnson of Sparta, Mandy Johnson and Kyle Dean Smith of Independence, VA; a granddaughter, two sisters: Edith Reeves and Janet Edwards both of Sparta; a brother, Dalton Edwards and wife Lori of Taylorsville; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Minnie Lou will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with musicians, her family, and close friends presiding. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
