Michele Jo Shaver

Michele Jo Shaver, age 62 of Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, January 9th, 2026 in McGrady, NC.

Michele was born April 10th, 1963 in Monongalia County, WV to the late Ronald Gay Shaver and Carol Kay Shizak Bee. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Colin Shaver. Michele loved the water and enjoyed fishing, cats, and puzzles.

Survivors include three children: Michael Waggy of Maryland, Chris Crouse and wife Jessie of Sparta, Branden Crouse and wife Stephanie of McGrady; seven grandchildren: Fiona Waggy, Shawn Crouse, Selena Crouse, Isaiah Crouse, Cameron Crouse, Declan Crouse, Caiden Crouse; her mother, Carol Bee and husband Bill of WV; an aunt, Kimberly Galusky of WV; a special friend, Jerry.

Funeral services to honor the life of Michele will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service at Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
