Michael Dobson

Michael "Mike" Dobson, age 57, of Sparta; passed away unexpectedly at his daughters home in Thurmond, NC on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.

Mike was born October 28th, 1966 in Hunterdon County, NJ to Sylvia Dobson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Barker; a brother-in-law and partner, Carlton Caudill and Mary Lou Yow. Mike worked in construction most of his life. He loved to fish, hunt, and spending time with his family and especially playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Caudill Dobson of the home; a son, Brandon Dobson of Sparta; a daughter, Jessica Bauguess and husband Marty of Thurmond; grandchildren: Ainsley, Olivia and Evan Bauguess along with three additional grandchildren also surviving; his mother, Sylvia Dobson of Ennice; his father-in-law, Dale Caudill of Sparta; a sister-in-law, Lois Miller and husband Charlie; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mike will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomas Family Funeral Service PO Box 114, Sparta, NC to assist the family with funeral expenses.
