Maxine (Collins) Waddell

Maxine Collins Waddell, age 78, of Glade Valley, NC; passed away Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

Maxine was born June 10th, 1943 in Alleghany County to the late Robert and Luella Richardson Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rob Waddell; a brother, Harl Dean Collins.

Survivors include three children: Pamela Hart and husband Craig of Roaring Gap, Roger Wingler and John Wingler both of Wilkes County; a step-daughter, Robin Steffin and husband David of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren: Autumn Hall, Maegan Warren, Chandler Winger, Ashley Hart, Austin Hart, Shane Hawkins, William Hawkins, Dee Carter; great-grandchildren: McKinley, McKenna, Addie Belle, Brooks, Collins Kate, Loreli, Jamisen, Ash, Lily, Madi; a sister, Shirley Combs; three brothers: Harvey Collins and wife Margie of State Road, Roy Lee Collins and wife Pam of Richmond, VA, Harold Collins and wife Bobbie of Rhonda, NC; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Maxine will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Pastors Phil Edwards and Jamie Wood officiating. A private interment will be held at Rich Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
