Mattie Lou Andrews

Mattie Lou Andrews, age 75, of Sparta, NC; passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 22nd, 2021 in Sparta.

Mattie Lou was born June 10th, 1945 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late Donley Odell Andrews and Rachel Mabe Andrews Crouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half sister, Maxine Burkins.

Survivors include three sons: Richard Parsons and wife Gail of Junction City, KS., Randy Parsons and wife Jessica of Newton, NC., Robert Parsons and wife Lisa of Taylorsville, NC; eleven grandchildren: Daniel, Rick, Robby, Ryan, Riley, Raven, Amanda, and Abby Parsons, Sierra Richardson, Kaley McDaniel, and Anthony Haskett; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Richardson and husband Dean of Wilkesboro, Vivian Edwards of Sparta; nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mattie Lou will be held at 2:00 pm
Friday, March 26th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with the Reverends Eddie Foster and Kevin Hopson officiating. Interment will follow at Prathers Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alleghany Council on Aging, PO Box 416, Sparta, NC 28675.
