Mary Alice (Pleasant) Eldridge

Mary Eldridge, age 72, of Sparta, NC; passed away Sunday, September 15th, 2024 at Lotus Village in Sparta, NC.

Mary was born March 19th, 1952 in Pennington Gap, VA to the late William Curtis and Iona Davis Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Dillard Eldridge; a son, Thomas Lee Eldridge; three sisters: Sue Baird, Patty Davidson, Jean Brooks; a brother, Edward Pleasant.

Survivors include a son, James Eldridge of Sparta; a grandson, Alex Gore of Abingdon, VA; two sisters: Bobbie Mullins and Shirley Hopkins, both of Pennington Gap, VA; two brothers: Junior Pleasant and Clayton Pleasant, both of Big Stone Gap, VA; special friend, Dean Maines of Sparta; daughter-in-law, Sheila Gore of Abingdon, VA.

A memorial service to honor the life of Mary will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at Sparta Church of God with Pastor Doug Combs and Reverend James Worrell officiating. There will be refreshments following the service. No formal visitation will be held.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Lotus Village.
