Mark Anthony Scott

Mark Anthony Scott, age 64, of 66 Grandridge Road, Sparta, NC; passed away Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 at his residence.

Mark was born August 15th, 1957 in Bluefield, WV to the late Buck and Willie Mae Maines Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Scott. Mark was retired from Alleghany High School. He loved to attend sporting events and playing baseball. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include two brothers: Dennis Scott of Sparta, Tim Scott and wife Marilyn of Columbus, OH; four uncles: Donald Maines and wife Freida of Mt. Airy, Dean Maines of Glade Valley, Bobby Maines and wife Shirley of Durham, Dale Maines and wife Laura of Dundalk, MD; two aunts: Mary Harrington and husband Chuck of South Port and a very special aunt, Wanda Robinson of Sparta; a nephew, TJ Scott and wife Jessica of Sparta; many extended family members and friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mark will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 14th, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverends James Worrell and Homer Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at Elk Creek Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
