Linda (Higgins) Woodie

Linda Higgins Woodie, age 73, of Sparta; passed away Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 at her residence.

Linda was born July 31st, 1947 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Lorn and Edith Davis Higgins.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Woodie of the home; a son, Robert Woodie and wife Sidney of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren: Margaret Ray, Benjamin Ray, Samuel Ray, and Liza Woodie; a brother, Jeff Higgins; a sister, Christine Pettine and husband Jack of Centerville, VA; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

A private memorial service to honor the life of Linda will be held on Saturday, March 13th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. No formal visitation will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Dr. Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to the Alleghany Educational Foundation, PO Box 33, Sparta, NC 28675.

Due to Covid-19, the family respectfully request no visitors come to the home.
