Larry James Francis

Larry James Francis, age 67 of Ennice; passed away Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Larry was born May 1st, 1953 in Ashe County to Helen Arnold Francis and the late Ira Francis. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Pilkins Francis. Larry loved God and family first. He loved to work and could do most anything he set his mind to. He owned his own masonry business for many years, enjoyed his cattle, fishing, camping, floating the river, football, and hanging our with his family and friends. He was soft spoken, but never met a stranger.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Francis of W. Jefferson; three sons: Jamie Francis and wife Tonya of Galax; James Chandler of Sparta; Charlie Chandler and wife Chrissy of Ennice; a daughter, Sandie Blevins and husband Jeff of Laurel Springs; his significant other, Anita Choate of Sparta; six grandchildren: Megan Ward, Maggie Blevins, Nicholas, Emily, Sawyer, and Taylin Chandler; a great-grandson, L.J. Ward; two brothers: Michael Francis and wife Joy of Sparta; Jerry Francis and wife Ethel of Texas; a sister, Mary Hunt and husband Jerry of Laurel Springs; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Larry will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 20th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Reverend Eddie Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
