Laraine (Finley) Hayslett

Kathi Laraine Finley Hayslett, age 65 of Sparta, NC; passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC.

Kathi was born May 13th, 1960 in Athens, TN to the late Robert Lee Finley, Sr. and Alma Cornett Finley. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Alan Bennett Hayslett. Kathi was a member of the Patriot Guard and enjoyed photography, reading, Mustangs and riding motorcycles with her husband. She loved her fur babies: Rosie, Arden, Gator and Jax.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Benny Hayslett of the home; two sons: Chris Everhart and wife Rashonda of Athens, TN, Joe Everhart and wife Angela of Athens, TN; a step-daughter, Janie Hayslett of Fleetwood, NC; two grandchildren: Noah Everhart and wife Delaney of Knoxville, TN, Savannah Everhart and fiancé Hamilton Barnhill of Wilmington, NC; two step-grandchildren: Lucas and Maci Hayslett of Boone, NC;  a great-grandchild, Colt Everhart; her mother, Alma C. Finley of Riceville, TN; a sister, Darlene Capps and husband Steven of Cleveland, TN; two brothers: Robert Lee Finley, Jr. and wife Gail of Athens, TN, Ralph Wayne Finley of Delano, TN; a step-sister, Martha Calfee of Cleveland, TN; many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Kathi will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 23rd, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service with Kenneth Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give special thanks to Alleghany County EMS, Alleghany County Rescue Squad and Sparta Fire Department.
