Kathleen (Atwood) Miller

Kathleen Atwood Miller, age 89, of Sparta; passed away Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at Genesis Alleghany Center in Sparta.

Kathleen was born July 7th, 1931 in Alleghany County to the late William Martin Atwood and Lillie Petty Atwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Miller; two daughters: Judy Miller and Lorie Alice Miller; a sister, Lorraine Nichols; two brothers: Alton Atwood and Frank Atwood.

Survivors include three daughters: Sandy Benge and husband Jimmy, Mary Howell and husband Donny, Wendy McCall and husband Donny all of Sparta; a son, Jeff Miller and wife Becky of Sparta; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers: Don Atwood and wife Glenna of Glade Valley, Bob Atwood and wife Karen of Sparta, Ronnie Atwood and wife Barbie of Piney Creek, Gary Atwood and wife Cindy of Sparta; two sisters: Bonnie Chappell of Ennice, Darlene Brooks and husband Dwayne of Fletcher, NC; several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Graveside Services to honor the life of Kathleen will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at Sparta Cemetery with Dr. Brian Galyean officiating. No formal visitation will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family respectfully ask for no food or visitors at their respective residences.
