Junior Grover Triplett

Junior "June" Grover Triplett, age 92, of 7 Mary's Lane, Sparta, NC; passed away Monday, February 14th, 2022 at his home.

June was born May 12th, 1929 in Alleghany County to the late John and Fannie Hall Triplett. He was a farmer, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church and served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Jarvis and Ken Triplett; two sisters: Reva Evans and Jean McMillan.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris Sturgill Triplett of the home; two daughters: Joyce Flippen and husband Jerry, Theresa Willey and husband James all of Sparta; six grandchildren: Tray Sanders and wife Becky, Hope White and husband Josh, David Triplett and wife Joni, Scottie Triplett and wife Regina, Matt Triplett and Cody Triplett all of Sparta; eight great-grandchildren: Mastin and Leah Sanders, Hailey Lynn, Peyton, Tinley, and Weston Triplett, Kendra Hunt and Katie White; one great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Sanders; a sister, Maxine LaRue of Sparta; a daughter-in-law, Ann Triplett of Sparta; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of June will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 17th, 2022 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Eric Miller and Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church and other times at the residence.
