Junior Maines Obituary

Junior Richard Maines "J.R." Maines, age 91 of 362 Sparks Hill, Sparta; passed away Thursday, December 24th, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

J.R. was born August 23rd, 1929 in Alleghany County to the late Luther and Bonnie Reeves Maines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kevin Maines; a brother, Hoover Maines.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen McGrady Maines of the home; a daughter, Teresa Maines of Elkin; a daughter-in-law, Melody Maines of Gallagher, WV; two grandchildren: Michael Kevin Maines and Bentley Cole Maines; two step-grandchildren: Chad and Bo Fanning of TN; two sisters: Louise Cleary of Sparta, Virginia Brown of Conover. Nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

No Services will be held at this time.
