Judy Ann (Atwood) Jones

Judy Atwood Jones, of 1003 Fraser Road, Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, March 5th, 2021 at her residence.

Judy was born April 22nd, 1948 in Alleghany County to Lorene "Dubie" Wagoner Atwood and the late George Robert Atwood. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stewart Atwood.

Survivors include her mother, Lorene "Dubie" Atwood of Sparta; her son, Jeff Jones of Sparta; two granddaughters: Makenna Jones and Gracie Jones; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Guerrero; a brother, Barry Atwood of Sparta; a special niece, Amanda Atwood; companion of twenty years, Jim Burchette; several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Judy will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service, 115 Hawthorne St., Sparta with Pastor Randy Lovelace and Brother Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
