Joyce Irene (Pettit) Boyer

Joyce Pettit Boyer, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026. She was born on December 23rd, 1947 to the late Pete and Irene Poindexter Pettit. Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, James Leroy Boyer, her brother, Donald Eugene (Gene) Pettit and one great grandson, Ryder Matthew Wolfe.

Mrs. Boyer is survived by her loving family; two daughters: Joy Caudle (fiance David Higgins) of Ennice; Janice (Chris) Boggs of Walnut Cove; one special friend, Angie Stewart of Walnut Cove; two grandchildren: Justin (Tara) Wolfe, Taylor (Justin) Bumgarner; three great grandchildren: Makenzie Kaylynn and Kieran Matthew Wolfe, and Kylie Nicole Bumgarner; a special nephew, Eddie Cole of Winston Salem and a dear brother, James (Linda) Pettit of King.

Mrs. Boyer, lovingly known as "Mama" or "MawMaw", had a heart for all those that were fortunate enough to know her. She showed her love in every way and was generally kind to all those she met. She loved her fur babies, Cody and Jack too. Our "MawMaw" will be missed by everyone and loved forever.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Boyer will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at REVO Church - Walkertown Campus with Stephen Lockwood officiating. Interment will follow the service in Old Providence Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm at the church.
