Joseph Michael Cochran

Joseph Michael Cochran, age 69, of Sparta, NC; passed away Friday, January 31st, 2025 at his residence.

Joseph was born July 21st, 1955 in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Gene Cochran and Romaine Arnold Cochran Dayton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Cochran; two sisters: Geanie Cochran Leach and Joyce Pop; a grandson, Sammuel Pruitt; a step-daughter, Sandra Scheffey; a half brother, James Cochran.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sandra Wagoner Cochran of the home; three daughters: Jolisa Jones and husband Robert of WV, Wendy Downs and husband Donald of MD, Becky Roe; three step-children: Wayne Pruitt of Sparta, Angel Cochran and husband Donnie of Sparta, Kenny Bennett and wife Delena of Sparta; a sister, Debbie Foley; a brother, Dewayne Cochran; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship with Pastor Brian Galyean officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomas Family Funeral Service, PO Box 114, Sparta, NC 28675 to assist with funeral expenses.
