Obituary
Jolene Shaver Wooten, age 84, of Sparta; passed away Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Jolene was born November 20th, 1938 in Wilkes County to the late Carl and Edna Overcash Shaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Reverend Don Alton Wooten; a brother, Frank Shaver.
Survivors include a son, Greg Wooten and wife Erin of Elkin; two step-granddaughters: Sarah Dinkins and fiance Jeffrey Boulden of Wilmington, Meredith Styers and husband Cody of Advance; four step-great-grandchildren: Wyatt Styers, Jackson Styers, Memphis Boulden, and Bristol Boulden; a brother, Johnny Shaver and wife Sue of Traphill; a sister, Barbara Jean Byrd of Mooresville; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jolene will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 15th, 2023 at Pleasant Home Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Ed Hall officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
