Patrick Price, 89 of Asheville passed away on October 21, 2023 at his home in Asheville after declining health. He was born in Charlotte to the late Elmer and Clarice Price and survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Norma Price and his daughters, Janet Price Ferrell and her husband Woody of Asheville and Kathy Carroll and her husband Steve of Lexington Kentucky and five grandsons, Rush Ferrell (Caroline Harris) and Austin Ferrell, Mason Carroll, Beau Carroll (Jessica) and Sam Carroll. He loved his family deeply and taught them how to love and receive love well.
Patrick graduated with a degree in chemistry in the last class from Wake Forest University at the original campus. He worked at American Enka and then BASF before retiring and starting his own environmental consulting business. He was a long time member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church where he served the church in many rolls over the years and now a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
Pat served as Chairman of the Asheville City School Board, helping him to keep his eye and hand on his girls. He received the Order of Long Leaf Pine for his environmental work at the state level. He enjoyed hiking, photography, traveling and his passion was chasing old steam engines and creating model train layouts.
There will be a graveside service at Glade Valley Presbyterian Church at 11am on Oct 28, 2023. A memorial will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church on Dec. 2 at 11am.
