John Edward Nieschwitz of Canton Ohio, Winston- Salem, NC and Sparta, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home while feeding the birds that he so adored. Staying true to his farming roots, he had a love for all animals and nature.
John was known for his acts of selflessness, his generosity, his passion for life, his contagious smile and infectious laugh. He never said an unkind word to anyone and he never met a stranger. The love he shared with his wife Joyce, the love of his life for 47 years, was like no other. She often said that "John is a Saint" and she knows how blessed she is.
John is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Mary Nieschwitz; two brothers: Thomas Nieschwitz and Paul Nieschwitz; his beloved granddaughter, Allyson Taylor Akers.
John is survived by his devoted wife Joyce; five loving children: Anita (Tim) Cross, Annette (Bob) Wagoner, Bryan (Mickey) Caporlette, Andrea (Nelson Gambill) Shelton, and Shelly (Bill) Spencer. John had seven adoring grandchildren: Wyatt Akers, Collette (Nathan) Burns, Nicholas (Cindy) Caporlette, Tony (Camille) Caporlette, Donald Cross, Carmen Spencer, and Bradley (Jade) Thomas. John also had five precious great-grandchildren, Roz Akers, Waylon Thomas, Cora Burns, Amelia Burns, and very soon to arrive Eve Marie Thomas. John had many special friends including his Wednesday morning "Think Tank" coffee group, The Bookmarks Book Club, and many lifelong friends, relatives and acquaintances.
A Colorful Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 2nd, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
